Original Black Sapphire color (Dark metallic blue that looks black in some lighting) over blue interior with matching removable fiberglass top.
This truck was purchased in California, had any repair/replacement needed, so it could be safely and reliably driven back to Michigan. I did, and you could, drive this truck anywhere with confidence.
Original factory motor runs strong. Has had a recent tune up with plugs, wires, distributor, oil change, new alternator and battery. The transmission, and differentials were serviced before the drive back from California, and both driveshafts were removed and reconditioned ($2,000). The truck runs, shifts and drives like it should.
Factory intake, exhaust manifolds w/ power steering, power front disc brakes, air conditioning, automatic overdrive transmission, bucket seats with console, folding rear bench seat, full instrumentation, Delco am-fm radio, power windows & locks, power rear window, factory Soft Ray glass, tilt, cruise, sport steering wheel, sliding rear side glass, factory 3.73 limited slip rear end, HD Trailering package, factory dual front shock set up (but currently only has 1 on each side), newer 4” suspension lift with shocks and leaf springs, 5 new 33 x 12.5O R15 Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT ($1,300) on factory 15” rally wheels. In my opinion, the best looking & riding tire and a sweet lift/tire/rim combo for this truck which maintains that classic square body K5 Blazer look, and let’s be honest…that’s what it’s all about anyway!
Everything works as it should (power locks, power windows, power rear window from both the key and switch, 4×4, heat/fan, turn signals, dash lights, courtesy lights, etc.), except the AC, which worked until recently. I think it just needs to be recharged, and it still has the factory stereo and uncut dash, but it doesn’t work very well, and the speakers seem to be blown.
Paint is a combination of original and some repaint, is faded and scratched in some areas, and has a couple small dents, but shows well. It has 2 minor rust spots, one small scab above a body side molding and one at the cowl. Everything else is 100% solid! You won’t find floors, rockers, and undercarriage like this in Michigan or the Midwest, only from states like California.
Interior is complete and in very good original condition, except the dash pad which is cracked, but is covered with one of those custom dash covers from the 90’s and looks fine. New front seat belts installed (still have the originals), new headliner, new carpet & mats, new dash bezel, new window seals & sweeps, and even the saggy ash tray and air vents have been repaired.
I don’t think the convertible fiberglass top has ever been off the truck, and it’s in great condition.
It has a stock-looking 2-1 exhaust setup (exits behind the drivers rear tire), but with a newer Flowmaster muffler and all 3” pipe. It sounds sweet at start-up, idle and running down the road. Not too loud, just the right volume and note.
I know what this truck is worth, and I don’t need to sell it. Check out the pictures and read the description. Don’t waste my time or yours with stupid questions or ridiculous offers.
