Selling my 84 K5 project…Complete, will not part it out.
2nd owner, I picked it up 5 years ago from original owner & it has been my daily driver, it has been maintained regularly & has never let down – until recently, the transmission [7004R] finally failed after 30+ years on & off the road.
It needs paint & has a few quirks, like the power windows are slow to raise/lower, driver window sometimes works, sometimes doesn`t, rear glass pops off channel if dropped too low (have the parts to repair it). Has A/C but never had a belt on it – so it might work (but doubtful ?), cruise control doesn’t work, original radio /cassette & heater switch are intermittent, the front-end needs to be rebuilt (have all the parts to diy), fuel filter/water separator was leaking & has been temp removed for repair (has cheap inline filter for now) . driver seat needs to be replaced (cloth & worn out), passenger seat is near perfect (vinyl).
The 6.2 diesel has 192k & still purrs, no leaks, doesn’t burn oil, one oil cooler line just recently started leaking at the radiator end…probably just needs the O ring replaced. Has a block heater for cold starting.
The 4×4 works great, auto locking hubs, not heavily used, but has never been stuck & has made many trips over the mountains in winter. Has good tires (245/75/16), recently replaced alternator, power steering pump, tail gate window cable, all fluids (axles, brake, steering, motor, cooling), water pump, heater core, door lock/window switches.
Clean title in hand, tags good till 12/16, truck will need to be towed – it does not drive, the drive shaft has been disconnected because it was towed, it does start but since the tranny oil was drained to inspect it runs rough – I may put oil back in the tranny so you can hear it purr.
Have a factory repair manual & lots of receipts . I think I have the vinyl back seat, located in Bend (hopefully it’s still in the barn)?
Any questions, please call & Leave a msg or email…serious inquiries only!
If I have to get it fixed, the price will go up to include the new/rebuilt transmission. I don’t have to sell it, just no time to finish it the way I planned.
IT DOES NOT DRIVE – NEEDS TO BE TOWED!
