Looking for something a little different? Here is a 1972 2 wheel drive K5 Blazer. The previous owner removed a cab roof and doors from a truck and grafted them onto this body resulting in a “short” short bed truck (104″ wheelbase vs 115″ wheelbase). While the body was off of the frame they cleaned and painted everything on the chassis along with installing drop spindles on the front. The factory trailing arms are in great shape.
The body appears to have had a couple small patches due to rust. The previous owner had started to jam and edge everything in a bright yellow before losing interest in the project. The paint that was applied is flaking due to poor prep so removing this paint before final paint would be advised.
This box has been opened up for the 33x22R15 Mickey Thompson S/R rear tires. These tires are brand new with the labels intact. They are mounted on a set of 15″x15″ Weld Draglite wheels. There is also a set of 15″x5″ weld draglites on the front with new 205/75R15 tires. Included with the truck are a set of ladder bars, a Ford 9″ truck housing (to narrow for the rear tires), new large bearing axle ends, a new bolt on rear disc brake kit for the 9″ housing. The original intent was to remove the trailing arms, narrow the factory frame and install the ladder bars on the 9″ housing.
All of the exterior sheet metal is in primer and free from rust. I removed a large section of the original undercoating to inspect the floor; this has since been covered in flat black paint. The grill is original and looks great for its age. The seats that are in it appear to be from a mid-90’s C/K 1500 and are 60/40 style.
Included with purchase is a billet dash insert and a set of Autometer Sport Comp Speedometer and Tachometer. This will replace the factory instrument cluster and facilitate the installation of your choice if Autometer 2-5/8″ gauges. I do have the factory instrument cluster as well.
I do not have the front or back glass but I do have an additional set of doors that have the door glass and wing windows.
No motor or tranny included
