If you don’t want the new sheet metal (both quarter panels, & doors) I could let it go for $2800.
Not interested in any trades, cash only.
74 K5 with full removable top. Purchased around 1995 or so. Came from Arizona and was rust free but 20 years of on & off driving in the winter has taken a toll on the body.
The bad: Tipped it onto its right side wheeling in the late 90’s bending up the right side sheet metal against rocks. Replaced hood, and both front fenders from LMC Truck but didn’t paint them (thought they had a primer coat) so they started rusting too. Hood has surface rust, both fenders now need lower section patched. I have both complete full quarter panels (taillight to door jamb) still in cardboard from LMC Truck ($600 in sheet metal) along with replacement doors for a 77 & newer that can be used on the older blazers when the window surround metal is cut off that have never been used but where damaged in storage and would need a little work. Includes new door window seals, windshield rubber seal (windshield is cracked). Would still need new rocker panels under the doors as they’re rusted out, I hadn’t purchased those yet as I wasn’t sure if I do just the rockers or the floor pan too. The body is in bad shape, no doubt.
The good:
Drivetrain- I had 4 wheel parts wholesalers rebuild both axles with a detroit locker in the rear and a detroit true track dana 44 in the front axle. Gears were 4:11 or 4:56, don’t recall without looking at the receipt but I’d bet 4:11 as I was running 33’s at the time. Installed a Skyjacker 6″ soft-ride lift (all 4 springs, no blocks but the springs have sagged some in the last 10 years) drop drag link, drop steering arm, extended stainless brake lines, removed the 203 transfer case & installed a NP205 with a TH350 with a stage 2 valve body kit. The 203 transfer case is included as I was saving it to attach the range box from it with a kit from Off Road Designs to have a doubler (4:1) gear reduction transfer case. It’s a bad ass upgrade if that’s your thing. Custom drive shafts were made for both axles with CV joints to accommodate the drive-line angle. Steering box was replaced & the transfer case was lowered. The drive-train has less than 8000 miles since all the work was done although it was in the late 90’s. The blazer spent many years sitting stored and several more years with no engine in it while I was slowly getting the big block done.
Engine- Pulled the small block 350 and bought a 454 from a 93 Silverado with 64,000 miles completely rebuilt and enhanced by Maxim auto machine shop. New pistons, Edelbrock intake, carb, Hedmann headers, & Flowmaster series 70 mufflers. This engine has less than 5k miles on it since the rebuild. Also installed a new big block suburban radiator but it would benefit from better mounting brackets.
Interior was re-carpeted with a full carpet kit from LMC truck and a thick carpet pad to reduce noise & provide better insulation. Exhaust was installed by mighty muffler on Colfax several years back but they didn’t weld the top of the collectors properly so it has a slight exhaust leak tick, more so on the passenger side. I sold off the 37″ super swampers & wheels that were on it. Currently has aluminum wheels with 31″ mickey thompson tires with excellent tread (some photos show black steel wheels with worn tires, they have been swapped for the aluminum outlaw II style with the mickey thompson tires) although either set can go with the sale, buyers preference. The blazer has a class 3 hitch and a large transmission cooler added to it. The o-ring on the dipstick tube needs replaced as it will leak if the blazer sits for a few weeks without being started as the fluid drains back from the cooler into the pan, adding a check-valve to the cooler retrurn line should stop this. High lift jack mount on rear photo is included but not the jack.
Have receipts for everything done going back to the 90’s.
Price is firm as I don’t need to sell and all the parts can be used on my 77 Jimmy.
