1989 Chevrolet K5/V1500 Blazer 4×4 (3/4 Ton – Differentials & Springs)
Original Arizona truck, no rust-rot, no wrecks. I’m the second owner of this loaded Silverado, 5.7 TBI. Original owner is an A&P aircraft mechanic and kept detailed logs. I purchased the truck in 2007, and at that time had a new Delphi A/C compressor installed, along with all new O-rings in the system, re-charged with R-134. Has the factory paint on it, along the typical issue of the paint not sticking to the top surfaces. The roof of the cab has been re-painted, the hood has not.
No dents or dings!, the only body blemishes (shown in pictures) are 2 on the tailgate, and a small crack on the front bottom edge of the hood. In the summer of 2012 I built/performed all of the following to the truck, converting it to 3/4 – 1 ton rated differentials and springs: Corporate 14 (full floating, 1987) rear differential, all new premium carrier/pinion & wheel bearings installed by Nate at AZ Differential. Nate also cut and rotated the spring perches to accommodate the 6” lift. This rear diff. has a factory RPO G80 “locker” and 4.10 gears, and converted to Disc brakes. Dana 44 H.D. (big bearing, 1977) front differential, all new premium made wheel bearings/seals, “open carrier” and 4.10 gears.

4Wheelers Supply – Rebuilt NP-241 transfer case. (Aug. 2012, RIP Joe)
Phx Rack & Axle – Front/rear drive shafts (rear is #1350 series CV joint at Xcase, Bernie).
The truck has approximately 5K miles on all of the above items except for the tires, they have 1K and were new in 2016.(4 Discount Warranties). Heater core was replaced in 2017. Overall the truck has 162K miles on it/motor. The following are the known issues: bad valve seal/s; truck burns oil after sitting. Power steering pump leaks. The speedometer is not hooked up since the X-case rebuild, as I had a reluctor ring for VSS installed on the output shaft by mistake. for the cable speedometer to work, it will need to have the “drive & driven gear” installed on the output of the X-case. Truck has a new Cobra C.B. radio, Pioneer CD player w/amp.
I don’t think the top has ever been off of this K5, and it has had lots of Love, has been well cared for, and not abused. Drive as is, or Re-Power with Gen3 Vortec / LS 5.3 – 7.0, or a new L31 Vortec 5.7 H.D. 4-bolt; which is a easy “direct replacement” bolt-in motor for this old/tired TBI 350 motor.
